HOPEiDONT Books is a social-emotional learning (SEL) company dedicated to supporting children's emotional development and well-being. Through our engaging Bigfoot character family—Buz, Budger, Grandmasquatch, and Balbina the Bear and friends—we create educational resources that help children navigate emotions, build resilience, and develop essential life skills.
iMPACT MATCH Program Mission
Our iMPACT MATCH Program is designed to maximize your organization's investment in social-emotional and safety resources for community giving. For every case of books your organization purchases, HOPEiDONT Books funds an additional matched case!
Our mission aligns naturally with service organizations committed to improving children's lives in their communities. Whether your organization focuses on youth development, literacy, safety education, or family support, HOPEiDONT resources provide meaningful tools that create lasting impact.
We are excited to offer a partnership opportunity through our iMPACT MATCH Program —designed specifically for service organizations like yours that purchase books to donate to schools, hospitals, libraries, community centers, and families in need.

Safety Series: Balbina Learns to Swim (available March 2026)
Balbina Learns to Swim is the first book in our Safety Series, addressing one of the most critical child safety issues in America. This topic-specific resource combines water safety education with our proven SEL curriculum, helping children develop both life-saving knowledge and emotional resilience.
The Critical Need for Water Safety Education:
Drowning is the #1 cause of death for children ages 1–4 in the United States and the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children ages 5–14 (CDC, 2024).
Over 4,500 people drown each year in the U.S.—approximately 500 more deaths annually compared to 2019. Drowning among children ages 1–4 increased by 28% between 2019 and 2022.
For every child who dies from drowning, another seven children receive emergency department care for nonfatal submersion injuries, which can result in severe brain damage and long-term disabilities.
The good news: Formal swim lessons and water safety education can reduce the risk of drowning by up to 88%. Education saves lives.
Why Balbina Learns to Swim matters for community impact:
- Integrates safety rules with emotional learning—making rules more memorable when they matter most
- Prepares children BEFORE lessons begin—serving as the "emotional onramp" that reduces first-lesson anxiety
- CASEL-aligned SEL methodology—providing structured emotional vocabulary children can actually use
- Supports community safety initiatives—ideal for swim programs, community pools, YMCAs, and family events
-
Empowers families with take-home resources—includes parent guide extending learning beyond the initial distribution
